Strategic Procurement Solutions offers seven sophisticated training programs to move your procurement organization closer to being "World Class". Strategic Procurement Solutions can conduct online web-based Skills Assessment Diagnostic Testing of our client's supply management employees. A 150 question online exam tests each participant's knowledge of 29 different competency areas for today's procurement professional. The results are provided to each client leadership team in an written report, which identifies both individual employee and group development needs.

The practical nature of our training has an immediate positive impact upon the "Bottom Line". Participants acquire the strategies, techniques, tools, and skills to immediately develop long-term supplier & client relationships that result in reduced costs for products & services, all at the lowest possible risk.

Each of our programs has been updated during the previous six months, and they present cutting-edge supply-chain principles in a dynamic, educational, and motivational forum. 

The Institute of Supply Management (I.S.M.) will qualify satisfactory completion in Programs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 for continuing education hours, which can be used towards educational requirements for the C.P.M. or A.P.P. professional designations. Our programs have also been used by participants for general CE credit hours required by the National Contract Management Association (N.C.M.A.) and National Institute of Governmental Purchasers (N.I.G.P.) for their professional certification programs.
 
  • Program #1 - Strategic Procurement Management Training - Want pro-active thinking, a commitment to excellence, and continual savings capture to permeate your organization? This program imparts "best practices" for today's supply-chain environment.

    This program is for procurement professionals of all levels. We believe the curriculum offers one of the most comprehensive & practical forums available today. Instructional core content is comprised of five focus areas dealing with thinking strategically; managing suppliers, internal clients, commodities, & contracts; and marketing the value of procurement…all tied to implementation of the strategic sourcing process, from opportunity identification to post contract award performance & compliance.

    The Strategic Procurement Management Training program is fast-paced and highly cost-effective, providing real world examples from our experiences in corporate & consulting roles. The workshop consists of 28 hours of intensive interaction that can be provided in both a continuous or segmented format at a client's location (at their option, it can be presented in 3 or 4 days). Class size is between 15 and 20 participants to facilitate group exercises leading to exchange of ideas.

    Participants each receive a 400+ page training manual & a certificate of completion. Client companies also receive the "tools" from the training, in an electronic "Best Practices Toolbox" that allows their employees to customize and use the powerful techniques in the program.
  • Program #2 – Expert Strategic Sourcing.
    To achieve remarkable results, today’s supply management professional must lead cross-functional teams through complex strategic sourcing initiatives.  This three or four-day program provides advanced techniques in procurement strategy, strategic sourcing execution, and program implementation that empower sourcing professionals to achieve higher levels of success.  Participants receive a 150+ page color training manual and electronic copies of all imbedded tools (Microsoft WordTM or ExcelTM).

    The Expert Strategic Sourcing  program takes sourcing professionals to the “next level” in terms of proficiency.  This program is designed for graduates of Program #1 or professionals from strategic sourcing organizations who have been in their roles for more than 5 years.

    Participants in the Expert Strategic Sourcing program receive a 100+ page color training manual and electronic copies of all imbedded tools (Microsoft WordTM or ExcelTM).

  • Program #3 – Advanced Procurement Negotiations – This two-day workshop is for sourcing managers & personnel who already possess strong negotiating abilities.  This program teaches advanced techniques for planning, staging, and conducting procurement negotiations. 

    The Advanced Negotiation program contains interactive team exercises and role playing that expand participants’ negotiating instincts.  We also incorporate content to help escalate performance in negotiating complex commodities and sole/single source acquisitions.

    The interactive nature of the Advanced Negotiations program is appropriate for a class size between 15 and 20 participants to maximize content absorption.   This program moves quickly.  Strategic Procurement Solutions is consistently praised by clients for the depth and quality of this program (and it is favorably-compared with older “Negotiation” programs they have sent employees to).

  • Program #4 – Strategic Contracting - This two-day program trains participants to pro-actively plan, develop, draft, and manage the contracting process.  In today’s Strategic Sourcing environment, organizations must shift high volumes of acquisition activity through long-term contracted supplier relationships. 

    The Strategic Contracting seminar teaches legal principles related to purchasing & service agreements, tips for working with attorneys, drafting techniques for statements of work, pro-active contract management methodologies, and dispute resolution techniques.  They also learn innovative ways to derive cost reductions from contract portfolios, minimize legal support expenses, and beat suppliers at the contracting game. 

    Participants receive a 75+ page color training manual and electronic copies of all imbedded tools (Microsoft WordTM or ExcelTM).

  • Program #5 – Supplier Performance Management – This two-day seminar is designed for contributors who direct supplier relationships.  This program helps to enhance the “Value Management” aspect of procurement performance, by providing tools & techniques that improve supplier performance, product/service quality, procurement program efficiency, and capture deeper savings than originally “sourced”. 

    This seminar contains innovative team exercises, role playing, and interaction.  Participants also learn meaningful “metrics” to apply to supplier’s performance. 

    Participants in the Supplier Performance Management program receive a 100+ page color training manual and electronic copies of all imbedded tools (Microsoft WordTM or ExcelTM).  When conducted in concert with SPMT training, this program is a one day addition. 

  • Program #6 – Outstanding Customer Service for Procurement Professionals.  Persons who seek procurement as a career path are usually known for being tough negotiators…not for their customer service skills.  This two-day seminar is designed to teach supply management personnel solid skills in building relationships with their internal customers. 

    The Outstanding Customer Service for Procurement Professionals program helps participants to master innovative customer service techniques.  These techniques build the procurement professional’s understanding of value-added service, and prepare them to exceed client expectations regarding responsiveness, pro-active behavior, supportive dialog, communication skills, project management, and sourcing leadership.

    This seminar contains innovative team exercises, role playing, and interaction.  Participants also receive helpful “tools” to use in surveying customers, communicating procurement successes, and targeting outreach to “maverick” organizations.. 

    Participants in the Outstanding Customer Service For Procurement Professionals program receive an 80+ page color training manual and electronic copies of all imbedded tools (Microsoft WordTM or ExcelTM).

  • Program #7 – Innovative Practices in Strategic Procurement – This is a powerful one-day presentation teaching 20+ innovative “practices” in each of the following supply management competency areas:  Strategic Procurement, Managing Suppliers, Managing Internal Customers, and Managing Contracts. 

    The Innovative Practices in Strategic Procurement  program is designed for client organizations which desire to move to the next level of supply management proficiency, but have constraints on participant availability. 

    Participants receive a 50+ page color training manual.
